Are you seeking to advertise your brand in a cost effective way? On the hunt for insulating outerwear this winter season?
AT THE BRANDING STUDIO, YOU CAN HAVE BOTH
Dress your team with confidence by designing a chic jacket that compliments your brand. It’s easy to fall in love with a brand that is recognisable and familiar, so encourage society to familiarise themselves with your brand; with branded apparel, employees become walking advertisements! Branded jackets will spark conversations and invite curiosity within the community, and can assist with team cohesion by fostering unity.
Yes, it really is that simple!
Let me guide you through our extensive range of jackets at The Branding Studio to fit your team.
First, ask yourself three simple questions.
– What activities am I doing in the jacket?
– What weather conditions will I be braving in the jacket?
– How much warmth am I seeking from the jacket?
This knowledge will help us to fully and purposefully identify the styles and types of jackets best suited to your needs.
THE COMPONENTS OF A JACKET
The shell – the outer layer of your jacket protects you from the elements. This component of the jacket allows it to be breathable, windproof and keeps out moisture. Essentially, preventing moisture from reaching the inner layers and skin is the key to minimise heat loss.
The Inner Lining – this internal layer goes against your skin and preserves your initial heat effectively. Different jackets often offer different weights of lining and are typically made of polyester, silk, satin or a combination of the three.
The Filling – this layer provides the warmth of the jacket. There are two main types of filling; down or synthetic. Follow this comparison of the two materials to find the best fit for you!
DOWN JACKETS | SYNTHETIC JACKETS
Either filled with duck or goose feathers. | Made of polyester fibres that parallel the properties of a down jacket.
ADVANTAGES | Provide exceptional breathability and warmth! | Waterproof and often more economically affordable. |
DISADVANTAGES | Not waterproof. However, there are waterproofing treatments on offer but often are ineffective. These jackets are certainly more expensive and do not dry well when wet. | Unfortunately don’t pack small and are not as warm. Despite a great level of care, the synthetic fibres will eventually break down. Therefore, it is a short term option. |
MATERIAL MEASUREMENTS
It can often be difficult to digest the quality of jacket features without understanding the unit of measurement they use. The below table will assist by detailing the measurements used for the properties of the jacket.
Feature | Measurement | Description |
Waterproof | millimetres | The higher waterproof measurement, the more durable the jacket is… |
0 – 1,500mm | Water resistant / Snowproof
1,500mm – 5,000mm | Waterproof
5,000mm | Very Waterproof
10,000mm | Highly Waterproof
Breathability | g/m²/24 hours | Measures how many grams of moisture vapor passes through a square meter of the material in 24 hours. |
5,000 – 10,000g/m² | Low intensity activities including urban travel or resort skiing
10,000 – 15,000g/m²: | More adventurous travel
>15,000g/m²: | Perspiring heavily will require a jacket this breathable.
Fill Power (Down Jackets) | (in³/oz). | Measures the level of insulation a jacket can obtain (level of fluffiness). The higher value, the more air the down can trap hence, the more insulating the jacket is. |
Weight of Material | gsm (grams per square meter) | Measures the weight of the fabric. |
