Colours can make things more beautiful, creating and influencing our emotions and experiences. Brand colours are a key element when making marketing strategy decisions. This is why it will be helpful to know what colours will impact 2021!
Many things started shifting in 2020; one of them was the colour trends we are seeing now in 2021. Having experienced a year where we have been more sheltered at home, the colours for 2021 tend to be more homey, calming and relaxing. Last year pushed us to connect with ourselves from a deeper place and this is also reflected visually.
Before Covid-19 existed, we were hoping that by 2021 colour trends would be futuristic, bright and bold. Unlike the neon colours we expected, the colours of 2021 have a more intimate vibe.
Here are the 4 top colour trends for 2021:
-
Saturated juicy colours
These colours bring much more positivity and enthusiasm, especially after a challenging 2020.
-
Human skin tones
As we said before, we have become more connected to ourselves and others. Our body has become the number one priority. That is why brands reflect in their products the colours of skin.
-
Harmonious analogous palettes
In 2021 all people need is tranquillity. It has been a stressful 2020 and for now we don’t want any more surprises.
-
Worn and faded looking colours
Brands are starting to point out the importance of withstanding the test of time. Worn and faded colours try to highlight how items survive over time.
-
Pantone’s Ultimate Gray & Illuminating
Lastly, the most important point is the Pantone Colour of the year. The combination of ‘Ultimate Gray’ and ‘Illuminating’ represent our mixed feelings between 2020 and 2021. On one hand we have a solid tone and on the other, a hopeful tone. We will definitely see these two colours this year, either together or apart.
